After years of working as a creative director in Washington DC, Joe Karlik moved out to the Eastern Shore in 2001. He started Locust Grove Studios with a simple goal – balance life and work in the beauty of the countryside. In this global marketplace, you don’t need to be limited by your location. To meet the growing needs of his clients, Joe asked his longtime friend and fellow Maryland Institute College of Art grad to help grow the company and expand the business. Brian Ghiloni joined the studio in 2011.
Joe is a designer with more than 20 years’ experience and a dynamic and original body of work. One of his first major accomplishments was to design the first stage show, Madhatton, at the New York, New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served as creative director for Hargrove Inc. in Washington, DC, where he designed everything from Inaugural Balls, corporate stages, and exhibits. He founded Locust Grove Studios in 2001.
Brian brings more than 15 years’ of design agency experience in advertising, graphics, identity and logo development. He joined Locust Grove Studios in 2011. Although originally from New Hampshire, Brian has called Maryland home for many years and splits his time between the countryside of the Eastern Shore and Baltimore.
